It's Time To Fill Out Your Homestead Exemption Forms!
If you purchased a home in 2012 and want to save some money on your property taxes, it's time to fill out your homestead exemption forms!
Homestead exemptions remove part of your home's value from taxation, so they lower your property taxes.
Only a homeowner's principal residence qualifies.
You must file an Application for Residential Homestead Exemption with the county appraisal district between January 1 and April 30 of the tax year the property became your primary residence - up to one year after you pay your taxes.
If, during any given year, you turn 65 or become disabled, you may apply for the 65 or older or disabled exemption, but no later than one year from the qualification date.
Once you receive one of these exemptions, you do not need to reapply unless the chief appraiser sends you a new application.

What To Do If Your Austin Area Home Didn't Sell
The Austin area real estate market is on fire! So, why are there still homes that aren't selling? It could be for a number of reasons: location, level of updating, price, or lack of exposure to the market place. It could something very minor that, if addressed, would secure you an offer in no time. If you've tried to sell your home recently, and have been told that the winter months are the slow time for real estate sales, it's time to get a second opinion! The number of homes sold in Austin is up 23%, the median price has improved by 7%, and the total dollar volume of homes sold has increased 35% over this time last year! That doesn't sound slow now, does it?

Where We Market Your Home For Sale
If you want to
receive the highest price on the sale of your home in the shortest amount of time, maximum exposure
on the internet is crucial! Just putting

buyer interest necessary in today's high-tech environment to make the most money possible on the sale of your
home. To see just a sampling of the many websites The Witte Homes Team will market your
property to get your listing the exposure it needs, watch the video above.
Then, give us a call at 512-994-HOME (4663) or email our owner, Heather Witte, at Heather@WitteHomes.com for a no-obligation listing
consultation.
